The time has come to part with Sparky. While racing is a complete blast, the pandemic through a massive monkey sized wrench into my interests. It introduced a meteor sized whole into my schedule which I inevitably filled with other interests.

Sucks to be me, but it’s awesome to be one of you. It means I will sell Sparky and most of what I have associated with the race rig to someone interested in Ultra4 racing.

A little History on Sparky

Sparky was originally part of the Desert Turtle Racing (DTR) team. I purchased the rig sometime in May of 2019. You can a really cool video of how the rig was originally built here:

Since the purchase in 2019, it has seen 4 races (rigs full history of racing):

Since the purchase, it has spent a majority of it’s time being rebuilt by RGP Offroad in Orange County, California. Between 2019 and 2020 the entire rig has been turn down and rebuilt.

The total cost was North of $250k between parts, labor and other goods and services (e.g., consumables, rebuilds, etc..).

Yes, in hindsight, it would have been better to buy a 6100 or 4400 car, but it introduced me to a world I was not familiar with. For that, I am grateful. I don’t like to use the term “race ready” because what I have learned is that being “ready” is really on the owners aspirations. This rig, however, is well built and ready to party.

Before any race, I recommend a full race prep.
